The new theatre meets two of the transformational shifts to ensure Auckland becomes the world's most liveable city by 2040.

Located in Auckland’s fast growing Wynyard Quarter the new Moller / BVN designed Auckland Theatre Company’s new theatre is a fantastic example of modern sustainable designs being blended with traditional theatre requirements and yet still creating an amazing building. A very complex design created entirely in Revit allows eCubed to fully coordinate all aspects of the services.

The new, international-standard centre for performing arts will be integrated with the new ASB head office complex and become the permanent home of Auckland Theatre Company (ATC). The centre will include a 600-seat theatre and access to a 200-seat auditorium within the ASB development.

The redevelopment of the quarter has breathed new life into this historic area and opened up a new side of Auckland for its residents and visitors. The new theatre will add an extra dimension to the waterfront and substantially contribute to the 'after five economy'. Aucklanders and visitors will be able to enjoy dinner, a show, a stroll along the waterfront and much more, all within easy reach of the CBD.

The new theatre meets two of the transformational shifts to ensure Auckland becomes the world's most liveable city by 2040.

The first shift is to 'substantially raise living standards for all Aucklanders and focus on those most in need'.  The new theatre delivers to the structural change required to shift to "new economy" industries in long-term, sustainable, high-growth sectors, and substantial improvements in people's educational achievement and skills. It also delivers to 'radically improve the quality of urban living'. The new theatre displays architectural and spatial design excellence in one of the city's best assets, the waterfront.
