The Hearing House
Healthcare & Labs
Client: The Hearing House
Architect: Bossley Architects
Location: Greenlane, Auckland
Completion: December 2017
From Bossley Architects Website: “The Hearing House organisation teaches deaf and hearing impaired children to listen and speak. They are currently operating out of cramped spaces in an existing house, and this extension provides facilities in keeping with the beneficial value of their programme.
The lower level contains flexible meeting rooms and staff offices, while therapy rooms and audiology suites are located on the upper level. The new building is linked to the existing house by a glazed gallery which forms the new entry. A new pre-school has been built in the adjacent garden.”
From Hearing House Website: “The Stichbury Bidwill Centre is a state-of-the-art 1000sqm facility featuring therapy rooms, audiology booths, a community meeting room, a family room and a sensory integration room. Construction began in July 2016 and was completed in December 2017.”
