Located in Parnell in Auckland’s city fringe, the Samson Corporation’s 6200m² commercial community of five buildings uses twin courtyards and veils of glass to create a sense of community and business all in one.  eCubed were appointed for Electrical Building Services.

The building was the first in New Zealand to achieve a 6 Star New Zealand Green Building Council rating, and was lodged to the NZGBC in May 2009.

With a fully active, openable, double skin façade, no air-conditioning and minimal heating, the building is a beacon for current green thinking technology. The lighting system achieves the maximum Green Star Rating by achieving 1.39W/m² per 100lux.  A first in New Zealand, 7% better than the required highest rating of 1.5w/m², and achieved over 100% of the net lettable area. The lighting solution was also the first design to be awarded innovation points for exceeding all the Green Star criteria.
