Simon has 15 years’ experience in the electrical industry, having started as an electrical apprentice and working in the Industrial, Commercial and Residential fields. He then completed an electrical engineering degree at AUT and moved into electrical engineering design with the Building Services team at Beca.

He has an interest in getting in and working with design teams to work through project designs from an early stage. He enjoys being involved as projects move into construction and observing things being built.

Simon has worked as a design engineer in a range of fields including Airports, Hospitals, Universities, Apartments, Factories, and Recreational facilities. On these projects, Simon has gained experienced modelling lighting, Revit BIM, infrastructure, emergency lighting, exit signage, and maximum demand work.

His contracting and installation background combined with his office design experience gives him a well rounded understanding of what to look for when working on projects from an early stage.

Simon is now working on his Engineering New Zealand Certified Professional Engineering application, specialising in Building Services.

Simon has a commitment to ethical decisions, and holds this high in his decision making.
